Capricoin Desktop Wallet

Capricoin Desktop Wallet

Its important that you encrypt your wallet, so your wallet is safe from hackers:
Look at this video on how to do that.
Look at this video if your wallet has stopped working - Reset your wallet

First a very important info:
It's similar when you ask coins to your Desktop wallet. It's not so likely that someone will steal your computer, but it happens. However, every now and then a PC crashes, sometimes beyond recovery...and if this happen, your coins would be lost,
unless you have a security backup. Also understand that software alone can also crash. The same goes for Capricoin wallet. If f.ex you close down the PC wrong or if the power goes, the wallet might not start again after you restart your PC.
In this case, you can recover your wallet, IF you have made a backup of your wallet.
So the message is: Make a backup of your wallet today. We do not recommend to have a Capricoin Desktop wallet or at least not have many coins in it unless you feel sure about how to operate it. If you feel uncomfortable with Desktop Wallet, you should wait for the Digital wallet that will be launched during first part of 2016. In this Digital wallet you do not store the coins at your own computer.
NOTE - If you need support with Capricoin Desktop wallet issues, you use support at Capricoin.org, not Vizionary.

1: You can download the wallet from Capricoin.org. Goto Resources and download Capricoin Desktop wallet
2: When you install the wallet, you will get an error message. This is because the wallet will look for an appdata roaming folder which not exits. However, in that same process it will create the folder, so when you start the wallet again, it will find that folder and continue successfully. (If your Firewall prompt when installing, just press Allow Access)
3: When you start the wallet, the first thing it will do is to start downloading blocks/info to synchronize your wallet with the network, how fast this will happen is depending on your internet connection and how 'big' the network transaction list has grown.
4: If you want to participate in the wallet mining, you need to leave your computer on and have the wallet running. So adjust your computer settings so it doesn't go to sleep and turn off when you are not using it. In the beginning it will say you don't mine, because you don't have mature coins. That will change after some time. Be patience. Its important that you encrypt your wallet, so your wallet is safe from hackers. Remember to open it for staking after you have set the password.
5: To ask coins out from Vizionary... you do so from the Capricoin menu and Coins Account. To find the wallet address you need open your Capricoin Desktop Wallet and copy the address you see below the 'Receive coins'
6: The first thing you do when you receive coins is to do a backup. Save your backup file on a USB stick that you keep safe. Its possible to create more than one backup. Going forward, make an updated backup on a regular basis and every time your account gets a significant change in number of coins. It's actually not necessary to have more than one backup, as the wallet will update itself with correct data if you need to restore your wallet. However, its a good routine to do it.
7: If your wallet for some reason has stopped working, you need to reset the wallet. This is how you do this:
A) Find the Capricoin folder in your browser.
B) Delete everything you see in the folder (including the 2 folders) - except the wallet.dat file or add the wallet.dat file from your backup storage if the file is damaged or missing.
C) Run the Capricoin install file (the one you downloaded from Capricoin.org) called Capricoin-qt
Now your wallet should be running again.
8. If you by mistake have deleted your Capricoin Wallet, install it again and replace the wallet.dat file in the folder with your backup wallet.dat file.
9. When you wanna close down the wallet, do NOT click the X in the upper right corner, it might on a rare occasions cause your wallet to halt. The correct way is to either logout if you want to close the wallet or minimize it down to taskbar.
Again - To have coins in your Desktop wallet is at your own risk. Vizionary is NOT responsible for any loss of coins if you should be so unlucky to lose them.
